WALTER E. OFFINGER BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP

Walter E. Offinger, Jr., ZHS Class of 1960, is a  long-time Zanesville, Ohio resident. Walter is the Past Director of
Offinger Management Co., an Association and Exposition Management
Company formed in 1930 and Partner of Twelve Oaks, LLC, a Real Estate
partnership which owned properties in Ohio, Michigan, and Costa Rica.
 
Born October 6, 1942, in Zanesville, Ohio to parents Walter E. and
Margaret Owens Offinger; attended Zanesville Public Schools, Diploma
1960; graduated from Denison University, Granville, Ohio, in 1964 with a
B.A. in Business with directed studies in Accounting; served in the U.S. Air
Force, Ohio Air National Guard 1964-1970, Honorable Discharge in 1970;
married 1973 to wife Sarel, a graduate of Ohio State University; worked
while in school at Culligan Soft Water Service 1959-63; Federated
Department Stores 1964-1968; CEO of Offinger Management Co., worked
with wife and large staff producing events in cities in all sections of the USA
and many International locations 1968-2010; sold business in 2010 and
continued as Director Emeritus of Offinger Management Co. 2010 -2017.  
 
Board Member and past Chair of the Wilds, one of the largest conservation
centers in North America, a 10,000 acre not-for-profit organization
connecting people and wildlife, affiliated with the Columbus Ohio Zoo; past
Board Member and past Vice Chair of Genesis Heath Care Systems, a
Zanesville Ohio Hospital and Health Care System; founding member of the
Muskingum County Community Foundation; Member of the Masonic Lodge
of Amity No. 5, Scottish Rite AASR Valley of Columbus & Aladdin, Shriners
International; past member of Rotary and Paul Harris Fellow; member of
the Slagle Trout Club in Michigan; Life member of  ZHS Alumni
Association, Trout Unlimited, Zanesfield Rod & Gun Club in Ohio, NRA,
Pheasants Forever the Habitat Organization, Bass International, National
Audubon Society, National Geographic Society, Zanesville Museum of Art,
American Forests Association; Delta Flying Colonel, and a member of
numerous Trade Industry Associations, Fishing, Hunting, & Conservation
Organizations.
